The 1st floor, or entrance level, of the HSL features 11 computers which require an Onyen to logon, 5 computers on the curved table in front of the elevator that require a guest login (see main desk), 2 computers with scanners, and 1 computer equipped to view microfilm and microfiche. The 1st floor has comfy chairs with a swivel platform for your laptop or book and large tables for up to four people. The six group study rooms on the 1st floor are reservable online and feature large wall mounted monitors and white boards.

The 2nd floor of the HSL features comfortable chairs with a swivel platform for your laptop and books and large tables for up to two people. It also has five group study rooms with large monitors mounted. They are reservable online. The main study area overlooks the entrance to MacNider Hall, provides lots of natural light, and includes standing desks.

The 4th floor of the HSL features comfortable chairs with a swivel platform for your laptop and books, individual study pods, large tables for up to four people, and four computers on the curved table in front of the elevator which require an Onyen to logon. The fourth floor also features a Relaxation Room with two reclining chairs, standing desks, and 12 group study rooms which are reservable online.

Room 527 is an open study area located on the 5th floor of the library. Quiet and inviting with a bank of windows looking over MacNider Building.
Basement

The basement of the HSL is a relatively quiet study space. It includes individual study pods, large tables for up to four people, and two areas for group study featuring white boards.
